All butterflies used to create these works of art were bred and raised on farms in the U.S., Caribbean, Africa, South America and Asia.  NO butterflies were captured or killed specifically for use in these displays.  They are bred on these farms to help replenish declining wild populations.  With a short natural lifespan of only 30 days or less, not all butterflies bred end up being released.  After a natural death, they are collected and sold to artists such as John Jurek and used to create these incredible, colorful and conservation friendly works of art.

  • These butterflies are not wild collected or killed to produce this art.
  • All butterflies are treated and sealed in crystal clear, high quality, airtight acrylic cases.
  • Lightweight and durable unlike glass.
  • All butterflies are imported legally and approved by U.S. Fish and Wildlife or are from U.S. butterfly houses which exist in almost every state.
  • Body and wings treated and preserved to prevent decomposition and shipping damage.
  • Antennae and limbs removed so they won’t fall off and are more visually appealing.
  • Color won’t fade over the years unless expose to sunlight daily. Place displays wherever you would place any other artwork.  Don’t place them were you wouldn’t display any other artwork.
  • Colors are natural and not enhanced.
